Nabil A. Al-Nuaim is the Senior Vice President of Digital & Information Technology (D&IT) at Saudi Aramco, assuming this role on January 1, 2023. Prior to this, he was the Chief Digital Officer leading the company’s Digital Transformation Office until this organization was recently merged with IT. Nabil is responsible for driving the company’s Digital & IT strategies and maintaining a reliable and secure IT infrastructure across Saudi Aramco and its affiliate organizations. Nabil’s other key responsibilities include building a skilled digital workforce, maintaining robust cyber defenses and reshaping the D&IT organization as part of Saudi Aramco’s ambitious digital transformation program. His role is also focused on transforming the company’s operations through the deployment of 4IR technologies that include cloud computing, IoT, big data and AI at scale. Nabil is currently member on the Board of Directors for Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) and Cognite AS which recently established a joint venture company with Saudi Aramco (CNTXT) and will support the industrial digitalization in the Kingdom and the wider MENA region. Nabil previously served as Aramco’s Vice President of Corporate Affairs where he was responsible for managing the company’s external relations, including with government, the media, and the communities in which Saudi Aramco operates. Prior to this, he was Saudi Aramco’s Community Services Vice President in charge of maintaining and operating company office buildings and residential communities including all utilities, recreation and support services. In July 2015, he was appointed as President & CEO of Aramco Asia Company, entrusted with managing and overseeing Saudi Aramco’s business in the Asia Pacific region - headquartered in Beijing. During this assignment he was the Board Chairman of Aramco Asia-Japan, Aramco Asia-Korea, Aramco Asia-India and Aramco Asia-Singapore. He also served as board member of S-Oil (Korea), Showa Shell (Japan) and FREP (China). Nabil has over 30 years’ experience in oil and gas, renewable energy, power industries, digital technologies, engineering and investment management, both in Saudi Arabia and abroad. He was assigned as head of Transaction Development, responsible for executing joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, as well as third party and other transactions. He served as board member of Marafiq Company (Marafiq provide integrated utility services to all sectors in the Industrial Cities of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia). He held several managerial posts with Saudi Aramco’s International Operations, Environmental Protection, Corporate Planning, Refining Operations, Power Systems, Engineering Services, and Procurement & Supply Chain Management. He also undertook duties as director of Kingdom Economic & Energy Analysis, director of Kingdom Energy Strategy, and chief of energy research at KAPSARC. Nabil holds both a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from King Fahad University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM) and Texas A&M University respectively. He also obtained an MBA from MIT Sloan Business School.
