Katharina Beumelburg is SLB’s chief strategy and sustainability officer. Before taking on this role in May 2021, she led Siemens Energy AG’s global transmission services business. In her more than 16 years at Siemens, Katharina held many leadership positions. A couple of highlights include executive vice president of strategy for Siemens Gas and Power and head of Siemens’ hydrogen solutions business. Katharina began her career at Fraunhofer Institute for Production Technology in Stuttgart, Germany before joining Siemens in 2005. She spent the earlier part of her career in Siemens management consulting, where she held vice president and project manager roles. Leading up to her most senior positions, Katharina was the global head of Siemens Business Excellence. Katharina holds a diploma in industrial engineering from Universität Siegen, a diploma in mechanical engineering, and a Ph.D. in robotics and automation from Universität Stuttgart. Outside of formal studies, she’s received executive education from Stanford University, Princeton University, and Harvard Kennedy School. Katharina has been a Young Global Leader in the World Economic Forum since 2015. She also served as a member of the board for Hydrogen Europe from 2015 to 2016.
