Towards Neutral Carbon Emissions: Challenges and Opportunities

Ahmad O. Al Khowaiter was appointed Chief Technology Officer, effective 2015, after previously being appointed Executive Director of Power Systems in 2014, and Chief Engineer from 2011 to 2014. Ahmad joined Saudi Aramco in 1984, where he held various technical roles in oil and gas production organizations, involving design, project management, commissioning, and operations; together with a number of supervisory, managerial and general management positions. Ahmad is currently a member of The Board of Directors, of Saudi Aramco Total Refining Petrochemical Co., (SATORP), Saudi Aramco Development Co., (SADCO), King Abdulaziz City of Science & Technology (KACST), and Neom Energy and water company (ENOWA) to name a few. Ahmad holds a B.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the King Fahd University of Petroleum & Minerals (KFUPM), and a M.S. degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Santa Barbara, including an MBA degree as a Sloan Fellow from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
