Dear Colleagues,

Technology transformation is emerging as a driver of sweeping change in the world around us. Since the industrial revolution, the oil and gas industry has played a pivotal role in the economic transformation of the world, fueling the need for heat, light and mobility of the world’s population. Our collective responsibility is to deliver opportunities to redefine the boundaries and deliver a cleaner energy through technology and cultural transformation.

On behalf of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and the programme committee, we are pleased to invite you to the 2019 SPE Middle East Oil & Gas Show and Conference. The 2019 conference theme is “Resilience Through Talent and Technology Transformation”.

Since 1979, MEOS has played a significant role in the development and transfer of exploration and production technologies, helping the industry to transform and push limits through innovation and collaboration to meet world energy demand. In this conference we are expecting an environment with a strong technical programme and comprehensive exhibition, companies and delegates with more than 500 papers and posters to be presented. The diverse and well-thought-out technical program can be utilised to learn, forge business relationships, share expertise with the regional and global oil and gas community, and create new technologies in one of the most prolific hydrocarbon regions in the world.

The programme committee for MEOS 2019 invites you to submit papers on topics in areas of your expertise with a focus on the conference theme: “Resilience Through Talent and Technology Transformation”. For this event, we have selected a large number of categories and topics on exploration and appraisal, reservoir development, drilling and completions, production and facilities, human resources, HSSE, new technologies and innovations. We encourage you to submit paper proposals on the listed categories and share your experience, knowledge and technological advancements.

We as an industry stand on the brink of a technological revolution that will fundamentally alter the way we live, work, and relate to one another. Operators and service companies are identifying opportunities to do more with less through operational excellence while evaluating the financial outcome of their significant investment. This conference will reflect on the importance of industry transformation, and will address it from many perspectives through panels with invited industry leaders, presentations and open discussions. The extended submission deadline for abstract was 15 September 2018.

We are confident that MEOS 2019 will provide you with a unique opportunity to forge business relationships, build strong networks and ties, learn and share your work and experience. We look forward to receiving your abstracts and meeting you in Bahrain in March 2019.
