The MEOS GEO Awards were established in 2023.
They represent a prestigious and coveted accolade in the energy industry, honouring the most distinguished contributors to the fields of oil, gas and petroleum geoscience. These annual awards recognise excellence and innovation in geophysical research, technology development, and exploration practices.
In 2025, MEOS GEO will extend its recognition to the exceptional achievements, groundbreaking discoveries, and transformative projects that are shaping the future of not only the oil and gas industries but the petroleum geosciences sector as well.

THE TRANSFORMATION & ORGANISATION PERFORMANCE AWARD
THE SUSTAINABILITY AWARD
Judged and selected by the MEOS GEO Award Committee, the 2023 MEOS GEO Energy award winners were chosen based on a rigorous evaluation process. All submissions were reviewed by the committee based on 4 criteria:
- Elements (20%): each submission had to contain one or more topics in the relevant category, and were ranked based on level of complexity and difficulty.
- Impact (30%): each submission had to display a proven solution with quantifiable impact and illustrate the magnitude and sustainability of that impact (i.e. profitability, efficiency, HSE, ICV etc.).
- Novelty (20%): submissions were assessed on their level of novelty, genuineness and authenticity of solution methods, approaches or projects.
- Industrial potential (30%): submissions had to demonstrate the applicability, scalability and replicability of their project to the wider industry.
